Georgia Power and Atlanta Gas Light suspend utility shut offs for 30 days

Comcast offers free internet for low-income households, enables free Xfinity wifi hot spots around the county and has no disconnections or late fees for 60 days.

AT&T is not terminating any wireless, home phone or broadband service, is waiving late payment fees, removing data caps and is keeping wifi hotspots open for free. Full details available here.

Rent & Mortgage Assistance

President Trump directed the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to suspend evictions and foreclosures through April as Americans grapple with the fallout of the coronavirus.

Paid Sick Leave

Emergency Paid Sick Leave – Any employee who works for an employer is eligible.

  • Full-time Employees – 80 hours of paid sick leave
  • Part-time Employees – Paid based on the average number of hours the employee worked for the six months prior to taking this paid sick leave

Delayed Tax Payments

Individuals will be able to delay paying up to $1 million in tax payments. Corporations will be able to defer payment up to $10 million. The deadline for individuals to file their taxes has been moved to July 15.

Veteran’s Relief Fund : One-Time Grant Available 

The PenFed Foundation has created an emergency relief program to assist veterans experiencing economic hardship as a result of COVID-19. The COVID-19 Emergency Financial Relief Program provides financial assistance in the form of a one-time grant to all veterans and active duty service members who are experiencing a financial setback due to the negative economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. The grant will provide one month’s payment, up to $1,500, for rent/mortgage, auto loan/lease or utilities (electric, water, gas). All checks will be sent directly to the creditor/landlord after the grant is approved. The Foundation can only support one emergency financial request per household.  Apply for assistance on the PenFed Foundation’s website.
